Where’s the “Donate” button?

I love a good fundraiser for a worthy cause! I think going to Atlanta to represent District 45 is definitely a worthy cause, but I don’t think it should cost tens of thousands of dollars to run for office. I am a regular person with a regular job. I paid my qualifying fees out of my own pocket. I am doing this for you, the residents of District 45, to give you a choice. I trust that the voters in the 45th are smart enough and diligent enough to read about candidates and make an informed choice. If you like the way the incumbent has represented you, I encourage you to vote for her and send her back for another term.

But if like me, you are not happy with the way you have been represented the last few years, I hope to earn the chance to represent you.

I’m hopeful that I can get the word out to citizens of the 45th that they have a choice this year by using social media and word of mouth at minimal cost. I don’t know about you, but I truly hate yard signs! I also hate getting junk mail, and that’s how I see campaign materials that are mailed to my home. It goes straight into the trash! I can’t in good conscience raise donation money to generate more trash. I will also not ask for money to throw parties or fancy dinners, the purpose of which would be raising more money.

There are so many nonprofits doing great work that could do so much good with your donations, and I’d much rather you send them a gift. What I DO need is absolutely free. Let your friends and neighbors know that they have a choice in 2018. Share my campaign page and website on social media. Invite me to an event where I can meet more people. Help me prove that it’s possible for a regular person to run a successful campaign without raising and spending a fortune!
